Newburyport is rich with history serving as the first major commercial port on the East Coast and the home of the US Coast Guard. On August 4th, 2015 Newburyport celebrated the 225th Anniversary of of the Coast Guard.
In addition to the beautiful museum, the Custom House also hosts many wonderful exhibits and event night talks featuring experts on various historic topics. If you are a history buff at heart, you will find tremendous value in becoming a member of the Custom House.
