Newburyport Annual Cocktail Competition Starts at Michael’s Harborside. Participants sample area restaurants and vote on who has the best cocktails. Great way to sample city restaurants.

Essex National Heritage Area’s Trails & Sales, Sep 16-18, 23-25 This festival highlights the unique features of Essex County and locally the historic assets of Newburyport.

Newburyport Documentary Film Festival, Sep 23-25 Held throughout the three days at either the Firehouse Center for the Arts or at the Screening Room. Admission to each film varies. Considered the Premier New England Documentary Film Festival.

Newburyport Fall Harvest Festival, Oct 8-10 Enjoy the beautiful Autumn colors while visiting downtown Newburyport

Newburyport Invitation Nights, Dec 2, 9 Stores are open from 6-9 with refreshments, touring their holiday gifts and wares – There are carolers and special music.

Newburyport Winter Festival, Jan 28th Premier Winter Festival celebrated all over town with ice sculptures, skating at the Bartlett Mall, etc. Set for 10:30 to 4. (Subject to date change due to weather conditions.)

Newburyport Eagle Festival, Feb 11th View Eagles up close in indoor exhibits and tour eagle viewing sights along the Merrimack River .

Greater Newburyport Restaurant Week, March 20-24 Restaurants across the Greater Newburyport Area (Amesbury, Salisbury , Newbury & Newburyport) will be highlighted with discounts and special features.

Newburyport Art Walk , April 21, 22 An array of activities at galleries & studios including music, demonstrations, artist receptions, refreshments and more.

Newburyport Literary Festival, April 27, 28 A premier opportunity to meet authors and find out what are the leading writers especially around the Greater Newburyport Area.

Spring Invitation Night, May 6, 13 A great time of open house on shops around Newburyport with events, refreshments, etc.

Newburyport Preservation Week, May 16-20 Week long celebration of the benefits that historic preservation brought to rebuild and prosper Newburyport.

Newburyport Farmers Market, May 5th Tannery Parking Lot Along Water Street, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday and continuing every Sunday throughout the Summer and fall.

Spring Invitation Nights, May 3rd, May 10th Shops will be providing light appetizers and drink to invite shoppers to see all their extensive offerings. Many will provide music.

Memorial Day Weekend Spring Festival, May 19, 20 Held Sunday and Monday, celebrating the beginning of the Tourist Season with fine art, crafts and photography displays.

30th Annual Garden Tour, June 11, 12 Premier Garden Tour in the Gardens of Newbury & Newburyport.

Newburyport Riverfront Music Festival, July 15, 16 Top names arrive for a cultural event for the whole family.

Merrimack River Maritime Festival, July 23, 24 Annual event at Salisbury Beach State Reservation welcoming the Tall Ships coming to the River.
